PERIOD DRAMA: GLOW AND DARKNESS
Beth has spent the past year filming for the period drama Glow and Darkness, a historical series based on the life of Saint Francis of Assisi. The project is directed by José Luis Moreno and produced by Dreamlight International Productions.
Beth plays Eloise, a servant and lady-in-waiting to Francis’ mother Pica (Natalie Radmall-Quirke). “My character appears mainly at the beginning of the series” explains Beth. “She supports Pica throughout her pregnancy and acts as midwife when the young Francis is born. As he grows up she is his nanny and governess, giving him a strict education. It was lovely to work with Lucas, the young actor who played the teenage Francis. Our characters have a love-hate relationship; they spend a lot of time together and Francis’ rebellious and lively character irks his strict and uptight governess. It was fun to find those moments between them during rehearsals!”
The series is due to finish filming later this year and the release date is yet to be announced.
